Linda Ronstadt's
"Love Has No Pride" Mono 45

Not only was the single version of "Love Has No Pride" 1 minute and 15 seconds shorter than the
LP version, but the 45 version was only released in mono. During this time it wasn't unusual for
promo singles to have stereo on one side and mono on the other, but this was the regular stock copy
of the single. This mono mix is not a fold-down from stereo, but a dedicated, unique mix. In
some spots, it's not even the same guitar and vocal take as the album version.

When Linda signed with Asylum, the label was still part of Atlantic Records. But by the time the album
(and its singles) were released Asylum had joined Elektra as a part of WEA's Corp. II. Therefore
several overlapping features are apparent during this transition phase. Examples include: old Atlantic
dust-covers...but new Elektra/Asylum center labels. The stock numbers for the LP and the singles
are the old Asylum/Atlantic numbering series. Ironically, the entire Elektra/Asylum/Nonesuch group of
labels is now part of Atlantic Records, as part of Warner Music Group's current business strategy.
Also of note, the a-side and b-side of this single have different producers. The album Don't Cry Now
had 4 different combinations of 3 producers/co-producers.
